STAGES Method Training

Behind every performance is a dancer who needs more than technique.

The STAGES Method™ is a mental wellness training built exclusively for the competitive dance world equipping studios, competition organizations, and school programs with the awareness, language, and skills to support every dancer’s whole wellbeing.

Young people experience a mental health challenge

75%

Of mental health conditions begin before age 24

50%

Of competitive dancers never discuss their struggles

Build a culture where mental wellness isn't an afterthought, it's part of the training.

The pressure. The pain. The comparison. The expectation to push through no matter what.

Dance culture teaches resilience but it also teaches silence. And the result is that mental health challenges develop undetected, unaddressed, and unsupported inside studios and organizations that genuinely care about their dancers but simply don’t have the tools.

The STAGES Method™ changes that.

Developed by Sadiyyah Abdul-Mumin, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with 20 years of experience working with teens, adolescents, and competitive athletes throughout Los Angeles County and a former competitive dancer herself ; The STAGES Method™ is a practical, evidence informed training that gives every adult and young person in your community a real framework for recognizing and responding to mental health challenges.

No clinical training required. Just commitment.

“I built The STAGES Method™ because I kept seeing the same gap: studios full of talented young people, adults who genuinely cared, and no shared language for what to do when a dancer was struggling. That gap is what I’m here to close.”
