About Sadiyyah

The background behind the method.

Sadiyyah Abdul has spent 20 years as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist working with children, teens, adolescents, and competitive athletes throughout Los Angeles County. Her clinical practice, Technique Child and Family Counseling, Inc., is dedicated to the mental health and wellbeing of young people and families navigating the pressures of high performance environments.

But Sadiyyah’s connection to the dance world goes deeper than her professional credentials.

She is a former competitive dancer. She has stood in the wings before a performance, felt the weight of expectations, and navigated the complex emotional terrain that competitive dance creates. She knows what it means to push through when everything inside you is telling you to stop and she knows what it costs when no one taught you any other way.

That dual perspective clinician and former dancer  is what makes The STAGES Method™ different from any other mental wellness training available to the dance community. It is built from the inside, by someone who has lived it.

A different kind of wellness training.

Most mental health training programs are built for the general population and adapted loosely for specialized contexts afterward. The STAGES Method™ is different. It was designed from the ground up with the competitive dance world in mind.

The scenarios are drawn from real dance experiences. The language is the language your community already speaks. The skills are practical enough to use the same day you learn them. And the framework is grounded in 20 years of clinical experience with the exact population your studio serves.

This is not a lecture about mental health. It is a training in care and the difference between those two things is everything.

Let’s bring this to your community.
